Houston Rockets – Los Angeles Lakers 101-91

The Los Angeles Lakers lost their last seasons safety and suffered their third defeat in this new season, against the Houston Rockets 91-101.

At this meeting, Trevor Ariza (Houston) received his NBA ring from champion Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher after last season he was a colleague of the two. During summer, Ariza exchanged teams with Ron Artest, who both now holds important positions on their team.

“I knew it would be a difficult match for me and unfortunately I haven’t played properly. Brooks made a great game and I am glad that the team managed to win,” said Trevor Ariza (Houston).

The hosts defense had more problems with Aaron Brooks and Carl Landry, who scored with 48 points and recovered 5 times from the Lakers panel. Even if fans were expecting a better game from Ariza, he scored only 9 points and made 4 passes crucial.

“We have to watch out for the defensive, because we have to improve. We are all over and we havent found yet our place in the game system,” said Bynum (Lakers) after the game.
With 18 points scored, Kobe left the field earlier than his colleagues in the last quarter hour, after having sustained an injury.

After their second consecutive defeat, Los Angeles is down on the sixth position of the Western Conference before going against the Rockets.

In the following games, Houston will receive a home visit from the Western Conference leader the Phoenix Suns and the Lakers will remain home for a confrontation with the Detroit Pistons.
