Bad news for the Houston Rockets

Chinese basketball player Yao Ming, the Houston Rockets team pivot, underwent surgery following a broken left leg during a playoff match against Los Angeles Lakers and will absent all season.

After the Rockets manager, Daryl Morey, said last month that Yao feels better and his career is not yet threatened, their 2009/2010 season is completely compromised. Giant Chinese (2.28 m), seven times selected to the All-Star Game, said that ”X-rays are generally good and the bone is healing fast” but that there is no chance that he can return in the game in this 2009/2010 season. Yao played 77 games last year, the most out of the four seasons in the American competition, after the first three years has suffered numerous injuries to his foot. He has an average of 19.1 points per game and 9.3 recoveries.
